A Community Partnership School utilizes four pillars- expanded learning, wellness supports, family and community engagement, and collaborative leadership- to focus its efforts in addressing barriers to success such as hunger, poverty, lack of access to adequate health care, lack of educational supports, and other challenges the community faces, as identified by the community. Through eliminating these barriers to resources for students, staff, families, and the community, the Community Partnership Schools’ goal is to increase the chances of student success and well-being. Volunteers will have a unique opportunity to contribute to programming through hands on experiences with students, staff, and the community, which supports students from undeserved communities, creating a meaningful and lasting impact on their lives. FGCU volunteers will provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in core subjects—particularly science and reading—while also serving as positive role models. In addition to academic support, volunteers will assist with a variety of enrichment activities, including student-led clubs, arts and crafts, sports, and games. These structured stations are designed to promote creativity, collaboration, and confidence among students. Volunteers will work closely with YMCA staff to ensure programming is inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the developmental needs of middle schoolers. This is a valuable opportunity for FGCU students to gain hands-on experience in youth mentorship, education, and community engagement—while making a lasting impact on our Fort Myers Middle School students. Volunteers are needed from August 11th 2025-May 22nd 2026. There are two shifts available each day. Shift 1 is from 7:30 AM-9:15 AM, and Shift 2 is from 4:30 PM-6:00 PM. Fri 5*Ongoing* Become part of Project HELPs Sexual Assault Response Team!Mission: Project HELP works with dignity and compassion to ease the pain of those affected by rape, violence, crime or loss of a loved one due to a crime. About Project Help: We aim to provide every member of our community, regardless of age, financial status, ethnicity, and identity. With access to our 24-hour Crisis and Referral Hotline, Sexual Assault Response Services, Crime Victim Advocacy, Sudden Death Response, and Crisis Intervention Services. We strive to give a voice to all those affected by violence, sudden death, and trauma. What are we looking for?: SART(Sexual Assault Response Team) volunteers are trained victim advocates who respond in person when a survivor presents for a forensic exam, within 120 hours (5 days) of an assault. As part of our on-call rotation, you’ll accompany survivors at our office in our forensic exam room or local hospitals, offering emotional support, information about their rights and options, and helping them feel less alone during the exam process. SART volunteers must be able to respond in person when called during their assigned on-call shifts. Again, no experience is necessary—just compassion, reliability, and a willingness to show up when someone truly needs support. Full training is provided, and staff are always available for guidance. Volunteers are on call 24/7 during their assigned day(s). We are currently looking to fill open shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but are happy to consider availability on other days as well. Mon 29Website Update and Maintenance for Special Needs Private Pre-K to K SchoolIMPACT provides Early Intervention services to Pre-K and Kindergarten students with special needs. Our website is designed to showcase our services and connect parents and the community to resources and tools to assist their special needs children in their natural environment. IMPACT is in need of students who are capable of updating and maintaining a website to announce enrollment and career opportunities, showcase the work and accomplishments of the students, and offer tips and suggestions in caring for and teaching special needs children outside of the classroom; and updating social media sites like Facebook. In addition to our Special Needs population, we also serve typical children ages 3 to 6 in a least restrictive environment, and provide Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy to children with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Our vision is a world where compassion replaces exploitation, where animals and people thrive, free from profit-driven harm in our food system. Service learning projects with Switch4Good’s Campus Action Now can take many forms, with some options including recipe development, research and writing, argumentative writing, legislative advocacy, and educational outreach. All projects center around learning how moving away from dairy can push the world toward a more sustainable, just, and compassionate food environment. Service learners work toward deliverables that are used in Switch4Good’s advocacy and awareness campaigns, building professional skills and competencies that empower them to make tangible changes in their communities. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children can explore new skills, build confidence, and grow creatively. Through collaboration and ongoing education, Community Cooperative supports and strengthens those whose lives have been affected by hunger and homelessness, ensuring that they have access to the resources necessary to transform their lives with dignity. In order to make the Meals on Wheels program run smoothly, they are in need of volunteers to assist with packing grocery bags for their clients. These grocery bags help provide food security to our most vulnerable neighbors—the medically homebound—in between their regular meal deliveries. Small groups of 3-5 people are preferred! They are in need of volunteers for the following roles: Logistics Support: Assist with the smooth execution of the event by managing resources and coordinating activities. Simulation Actors (Patients): Portray patients to help students practice their triage and care skills in a simulated disaster setting.
