Fri 1Commuter Advocacy Role with Florida Department of TransportationCommute Connector is a program of the Florida Department of Transportation. We partner with Employers, Universities and Local Government Agencies (Economic development councils, Planning orgs, Chamber) to provide complimentary resources and consulting services to assist commuters across 12 counties. The Commuter Advocacy role will serve as a voice for FGCU’s commuter population, advocating for their needs while promoting transportation options in partnership with FDOT’s Commute Connector program. Working closely with Student Government and other campus stakeholders, the Commuter Advocacy role will identify common transportation barriers—such as parking, cost, time, or stress—and elevate these concerns to university and regional partners. They will help facilitate conversations at town halls or SG forums and support efforts to shape commuter-friendly solutions. Additionally, the Commuter Advocacy role will conduct short surveys or focus groups with students to gather insights and track participation in mobility programs, ensuring that student perspectives directly inform transportation planning and outreach. Please note the Commute Connector program manager will directly advise this role. MDA's mission is to empower the people we serve to live longer, more independent lives. As an MDA Summer Camp volunteer, you will be by a campers’ sides day and night as you participate in adaptive camp experiences, games, dances, mealtime and more, during the weeklong, overnight program. Volunteers work with campers, providing around-the-clock care and support with activities of daily living such as dressing, bathing, and more. Sat 16Volunteers Needed for Mission Trip in Nassau, Bahamas with Advance the FaithAdvance the Faith is seeking students to come serve with them on their annual summer mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas to serve youth. Every year, we host a camp for the youth in foster care from Ranfurly Homes for Children & Elizabeth Estates Children's Home. This camp consists of workshops on various life-skills, personal-success skills, team-building games, and faith-based content. During this trip, we will also host a gathering for those who have aged out of foster care that have been a part of our programming and camps for several years. Mission team members can help with teaching workshops, preaching messages, leading worship and devotionals, leading games, and preparing meals. We would get to know you, your gifts, your passions, and your personality to explore what areas you want to serve in on the trip! FGCU Trip Participants earn 40 Service-Learning Hours Trip Cost: $950 plus airfare cost (payments are due in increments) All participants are required to complete a trip application, background check, zoom training and have a passport that is valid through February 2026. Service learning projects with Switch4Good’s Campus Action Now can take many forms, with some options including recipe development, research and writing, argumentative writing, legislative advocacy, and educational outreach. All projects center around learning how moving away from dairy can push the world toward a more sustainable, just, and compassionate food environment. Service learners work toward deliverables that are used in Switch4Good’s advocacy and awareness campaigns, building professional skills and competencies that empower them to make tangible changes in their communities. Volunteers are needed from 08/18/25-12/12/25. Students can serve at varying times within this range, but they will need to be able to serve for a substantial number of weeks (at least half of the term).
