The Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is seeking FGCU students to volunteer as culinary instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children can develop new skills, build confidence, and explore creativity. What We Need: FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school cooking class (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide youth through simple, beginner-friendly recipes, promote healthy eating habits, and create a fun, hands-on learning experience. The Salvation Army of Collier County’s Fran Cohen Youth Center is dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment where youth can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination and to nurture the mind, body, and spirit through quality programs and services. What We Need: FGCU students to volunteer as after-school tutors, helping elementary and middle school students with homework, reading, math, and study skills. Volunteers will provide one-on-one or small group academic support, encourage positive attitudes toward learning, and serve as role models.
