Create Kindness cards, rocks, kindness kits, design and decorate kind spaces, and design and develop printed materials such as bookmarks, flyers, and buttons. Volunteers can work remotely but need to meet in-person for picking up and dropping off supplies. Help us make art accessible and fun for everyone! They will communicate the services that are offered and assess if individuals are interested and assist in signing them up. This event is on 8/30/25 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM with set-up beginning at 10:00 AM. - Sat, Aug 30*Ongoing* McGregor Clinic Needs Community Outreach Volunteers in Lee CountyStudents will assist with preparation for community outreach activities in the Lee County area. Students will have one-on-one interactions with community members, low-income populations, homeless populations in some aspects, and young adults. Students will assist in preparing promotional items such as condoms, pamphlets, and swag items for outreach activities. The Mcgregor Clinic serves as an HIV/STI clinic offering free testing and treatment for STI/HIV infections. A typical shift would be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or whatever the student is willing to cover, with some events happening on weekends and evenings. - Sat, Oct 25Site Leaders Needed for Make A Difference Day (MADD)Join us and help lead fellow Eagles at our 2025 Make a Difference Day October 25, 2025! Give back to the community. Get service-learning hours. Develop your leadership skills. Be a Make A Difference Day Site Leader! The FGCU Office of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement is in need of students to serve as site leaders during the annual Make A Difference Day morning of service. Site leaders will help lead a service trip with roughly 25 student participants per site. You will work together with one or two additional site leaders to lead your site location. Locations will vary. Learn more about the Day of Service event here. The event runs 8am-1pm. However, we ask site leaders to arrive at 7am to help with setup and plan to stay until 2pm to help with any teardown that may be needed. You will engaged in 7 hours of service-learning toward your graduation requirement. You must attend a short training session. There are two options (you only need to pick one): • Tuesday, October 21, from 1:30-2:30pm in Cohen 247 • Wednesday, October 22, from 11am-12pm in Cohen 247 If you are interested, RSVP on this event page and a staff member from our office will reach out to you as the event gets closer with further details. - Sat, Oct 25Make A Difference Day (MADD) 2025Join the national tradition and take part in FGCU's 14th annual Make A Difference Day on Saturday, October 25, between 8:00am - 1:00pm! There's no better way to make friends and get connected to FGCU and the SWFL community than by spending a morning together serving others. TIMELINE OF THE DAY 8:00am: Check-in at the FGCU Student Plaza Bus Loop 8:20am: Kickoff 8:30am: Depart on buses 8:45am: Serve at sites across the SWFL Community 12:15pm: Wrap-Up and Depart 12:30pm-1:00pm: Arrive back to the FGCU Student Plaza Bus Loop and have lunch together while reflecting on your day! MANDATORY PRE-EVENT CHECK-IN: All participants must check-in prior to the morning of the event to confirm their spot. Pre-event check-in will be open October 20-22, from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM in McTarnaghan Hall 229. IMPORTANT: Anyone under 18 MUST bring a signed copy of your waiver with you to the pre-event check-in in MCT 229. GROUPS: If you have friends (or a group) that you would like to serve with, you must each RSVP individually in Eagle Link then all pre-check-in as a group together at the same time between Oct 20-22 in MCT 229 to have the best chance of serving at the same site. Total group participation numbers are limited to site capacities and site availability is on a first-come, first-served basis. TRANSPORTATION: Transportation will be provided for most service sites. We will meet in the FGCU Student Plaza/Bus Loop promptly at 8am. Buses depart at 8:30am. Important: Once you RSVP, your community agency is fully counting on you to be there that morning, so please be 100% sure you can attend before committing. ATTIRE AND WHAT TO BRING: Please wear either an FGCU shirt or blue and green to represent the university out in the community! Be sure to dress comfortably, wear closed-toe shoes and sunscreen.
