FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University's men's and women's cross-country teams will head to the Hatter Invitational in DeBary, Florida Friday.
The meet will be a preview to the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships as Stetson University will be hosting the league's top event for the season.
Alise Petrova was named this week's ASUN Freshman of the Week after producing a personal-best time of 18:03.96 last Friday at the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Alabama.
Her time was 10 seconds faster than her opening season time of 18:13. 45 at the FAU Invite.She helped the Eagles to a 16th-place finish out of 49 schools.
The men's team will be aiming to improve on their solid performance from the Southern Showcase as they finished 20th out of 47 teams in attendance and 460 individual runners. Bramwell Havi was the first Eagle to cross the line in 89th place and clocked in at 25:29.59.
