Through interactive activities, storytelling, and cross-team engagement, students will strengthen their connection to the TLE family while deepening their understanding of the department’s mission and priorities. Participants will explore their personal leadership strengths using CliftonStrengths and co-create goals that align with their roles, team vision, and the LEAD Forward framework.
- Aug 293:00 PMTWS Presents: Andrea Nocentini - Defining Nutrient Thresholds to Prevent Harmful Algal Blooms on the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s ReservationsAndrea Nocentini has an education in forestry, agriculture, and natural resource management. During his PhD at University of Bologna, he researched for four years carbon fluxes due to land use change to perennial bioenergy crops. After, he worked at FIU and with the National Park Service, carrying out scientific research in Everglades freshwater wetlands, where he researched the biogeochemical and vegetation community dynamics as driven by the interaction of hydrologic and fire management. In the last two years, Andrea has monitored and analyzed water quality conditions in wetlands, lakes, ponds, ditches, and canals of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s reservations.
- Aug 18 – Dec 29Website Update and Maintenance for Special Needs Private Pre-K to K SchoolIMPACT provides Early Intervention services to Pre-K and Kindergarten students with special needs. Our website is designed to showcase our services and connect parents and the community to resources and tools to assist their special needs children in their natural environment. IMPACT is in need of students who are capable of updating and maintaining a website to announce enrollment and career opportunities, showcase the work and accomplishments of the students, and offer tips and suggestions in caring for and teaching special needs children outside of the classroom; and updating social media sites like Facebook. In addition to our Special Needs population, we also serve typical children ages 3 to 6 in a least restrictive environment, and provide Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapy to children with Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Students interested in this opportunity should contact: maxine.gibbs@impactforkids.org Schedule Details: Monday-Friday, from 7:00am to 5:00pm and students can work a schedule that is flexible for them. - Aug 18 – Dec 29Early Learning Special Needs Classroom AssistanceIMPACT has added a Kindergarten class to continue preparing children with developmental delays to integrate into a public school setting. We need assistance in preparing materials for 2 kindergarten classes, which involves printing, laminating, and assembling lessons. Filing and general administrative assistance also needed.
