- Aug 14 – Dec 31*Ongoing* *Virtual* FGCU Roots of Compassion & Kindness (ROCK) Center Needs Digital Strategy VolunteersThe FGCU Roots of Compassion & Kindness (ROCK) Center needs students to use their creativity to amplify kindness through digital platforms. Students would create promotional videos, social media reels, and engaging graphics for Instagram and other platforms. This is ideal for students interested in graphic design, media, and communication! - Aug 21 – Dec 15Democratic Party needs YOU! *Ongoing*Virtual/In person*Build your civic engagement skills and make an impact with the Democratic Party of Lee County. Slect one or more opportunities from the list below: Register student to vote: Become certified to register students to vote in Lee County, after 45 min Zoom training. Assist the Voter registration chair with collection and reporting. Work in a team at a campus event to educate and update voters’ status. Training is provided on the first Saturday morning of each month by Zoom. Register here Voter Outreach: Work in a team of 2-4 Democrats using the app Mini-VAN: 1 to drive and 1 to 3 volunteers hang literature at Dem homes who are in danger of being dropped from the voter roles. Training and assistance is provided. Register here. Phone Banking: Phone Bankers work independently on their own time, using their phone, laptop, or tablet to call Dem or Left-Leaning Non-Party Affiliate voters using a database and a ready-made script. Training and assistance are provided. Register here Become a Campus Organizer: Organize and lead a volunteer team to welcome and maintain contact with the Democrats on campus. Serve as a leader for registration and grassroots initiatives and liaison to the Party. Work from home, alone or in a team. Create Kindness cards, rocks, kindness kits, design and decorate kind spaces, and design and develop printed materials such as bookmarks, flyers, and buttons. Volunteers can work remotely but need to meet in-person for picking up and dropping off supplies.
