This interactive campus event is designed for incoming students to navigate this exciting terrain—academically, socially, and professionally. 🔍 What You’ll Explore 1. Navigate the Majors & Minors Environmental Geology (B.S.): Map the Earth’s crust and track groundwater flow. Environmental Studies (B.A.): Chart interdisciplinary courses across science, policy, and society. Marine Science (B.S.): Dive deep into ocean ecosystems and coastal research. Graduate Programs: Follow the trail into advanced studies—Environmental Science (M.S.) and Environmental Studies (M.A.). Minors: Short detours into Climate Change, Environmental Education, or Geology help round out your compass of interests (Florida Gulf Coast University). 2. Meet Your Guides—The Faculty Hear from the Marine & Earth Sciences and Ecology & Environmental Studies departments, whose faculty weave together hydrosphere, geosphere, biosphere, and atmosphere studies (Florida Gulf Coast University). 3. Visit the Landmark Building (AB9) Wander through the 4‑story, 114,000 ft² academic beacon—complete with a dramatic, glass‑filled atrium and dazzling installations like the ‘Omnis’ mobile. Peek into research labs such as: Aquarium rooms Flume labs Algal toxin testing suites A secure biosafety lab Plus rooftop solar panels powering up to 20% of the building (FGCU 360). 4. Hands‑On Tech & Field Experience See real‑world equipment in action: mass spectrometers (Thermo ALTIS, TSQ 9000), autotitrators, and oceanographic vessels. Learn how students are using these tools to combat red tide, ocean acidification, and more—and even get certified for scuba diving in FGCU’s program (FGCU 360). 🌟 Why Attend?
