- Oct 118:00 AMVolunteers Needed for Babcock Ranch Community Cleanup Event with The Community ChurchWe are looking for volunteers to help the residents and local organizations in Babcock Ranch keep our city clean. We will walk the sidewalks, medians, parks, and green spaces to collect any discarded items and properly dispose of them. Items will be sorted for recycling. Part of our mission, vision, and values is to care for the environment and educate the community on the importance of sustainability. This event is on Saturday, October 11 in Babcock Ranch. The event starts with a safety and strategy talk at 8:00am and debris collection to follow. We meet in the parking lot of the Babcock Ranch Field House near the football field in Babcock Ranch. Items collected will be returned to the meeting area (Babcock Ranch Field House Parking Lot) to be weighed and sorted for recycling. We suggest a hat and sunglasses.What We Provide: All tools needed, sunblock, water refill jug, light snacks, and designated team members who take pictures and ensure safety.Safety Guidelines: Drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed. Set a timer to come back at set time. Watch out for sharp objects, glass, and wildlife. Avoid heavy lifting and work with a buddy at all times. Do not touch hazardous materials such as needles or chemicals. Report heavy items to our designated team member.Post Cleanup: Weigh your buckets and join the group photo at 10:45 am.Why Help: Beach cleanups are a last line of defense to prevent debris from causing harm to our oceans, to wildlife, to our coastal economies, and even beach-goers. - Oct 1110:00 AMVolunteers Needed for Wonder Gardens After DarkAs an oasis in Bonita Springs that serves generational audiences, The Wonder Gardens inspires and provides transformative experiences of wonder in the natural world. We are a historic botanical garden and zoological park that provides long term nurturing homes for exotic and local wildlife. "Wonder Gardens After Dark" on October 11, 2025, is a family friendly community-building Halloween event that includes fun, educational activities and games with a message of conservation. Set up volunteers (10 am - 2 pm) will move tables and chairs, decorate, and move activity supplies into place. Closed toe shoes required. Khaki & black dress preferred. Event volunteers (4:00 - 9:00 pm) will staff activity tables and games for visitors. Face painters, musicians, and costumed characters also needed. Closed toed shoes required. Family friendly costume or black shirt/black pants or shorts. Light dinner provided! All volunteers please bring:Reusable water bottle snack sunscreen and bug spray Minimal personal belongings - they will stay with you (no lockers) The event times are 5:30 - 8:30 pm. Set up volunteers work 10 am - 2 pm. Event volunteers work 4:00 - 9:00 pm. Back-up date for weather cancellation is October 18. Liability and photo release waivers will be signed onsite.
