Southwest Florida Library Network is looking for FGCU students who are tech savvy to assist them at the Makerpalooza event on Friday, September 12th from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Need assistance especially from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM). This event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Bell Tower in Fort Myers.   Volunteer responsibilities will include: Tech Playground Support (1:30–2:30 PM):Demonstrating and assisting attendees with various hands-on technology tools such as drones, 3D pens, button makers, Sphero robots, and more. Volunteers will help facilitate engagement and guide participants through using the equipment. General Event Support (Beginning at 8:30 AM): Assisting with check-in and registration, Handing out materials to attendees. Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Garden  has a mission to provide a natural setting along the Peace River showcasing world-class sculptures and spectacular botanicals to inspire creativity throughout the community and uphold the ideals of gardening in our sublime sub-tropical region. Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Garden is a sanctuary spanning 27 acres blending Florida's native flora world-class sculptures, and modern interpretive art.  Students may assist kids at crafts stations, yard games, plant sale helper, parking attendants, butterfly hours attendants, garden greeters, cross walk, set-up, clean-up, admissions and runners. This is an in-person opportunity which will occur on 9/13/2025; 9am-2pm is the event. Set up starts at 7:30am and will clean-up 2pm-4pm approximately Shifts are for the entire event.
