The Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is seeking FGCU students to volunteer as culinary instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children can develop new skills, build confidence, and explore creativity. What We Need:FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school cooking class (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide youth through simple, beginner-friendly recipes, promote healthy eating habits, and create a fun, hands-on learning experience.  Date & Time: September 4th, 2025 from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM Location: Veggie Village Community Garden – North Naples, FL (7070 Immokalee Rd, Naples, FL 34119)   Our community garden is in need of some TLC, and we’ll be planting and weeding to help it thrive. Be prepared to get your hands dirty! Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. We’ll provide all the necessary tools, plus snacks and water—just bring your energy and enthusiasm!   Directions: Veggie Village Community Garden is located inside Saint Monica’s Episcopal Church grounds.
