Volunteer for Community Cooperative in the Market!The mission of Community Cooperative is to eliminate hunger and homelessness in southwest Florida while simultaneously inspiring and supporting sustained positive change in its clients by delivering innovative food, education and social service programs. Student volunteers are needed to help families shop for the food they need with dignity and care. Whether you're organizing groceries or assisting clients with their selections, your support brings nourishment and hope to our community. Please wear closed-toed shoes and a shirt with sleeves — we’ll supply the smiles! Event runs Monday-Friday; Flexible shifts available; Student Volunteers highly needed for Afternoon shift! Available Shifts: Morning Shift- 8:30AM-12:15PM Afternoon Shift- 12:45-3:45 Students can stay all day for more hours, lunch is included! - Sep 9 – Dec 31*Ongoing* Volunteer for Community Cooperative and Help Kids Flip for Healthy Foods!The mission of Community Cooperative is to eliminate hunger and homelessness in southwest Florida while simultaneously inspiring and supporting sustained positive change in its clients by delivering innovative food, education and social service programs. As a Flip Volunteer you will help design and plan arts and crafts activities based on the fruit or vegetable of the month. You will do amazing tasks such as reading a story about the highlighted food, help with arts and crafts, and even hand out snacks! Our Flip participants are always excited to have us in the classroom and they always enjoy crafts and a healthy snack. You will be working closely with our social worker Jeremy, who often sports a fruit or vegetable costume! If you have not volunteered with Community Cooperative before, all FLIP volunteers must conduct a phone interview with a staff member of volunteer services. This must be conducted BEFORE your first FLIP shift. FLIP Occurs on Wednesdays alternating, the shift is from 9am-10:30am. There are several locations including: 3713 Canal Street, Fort Myers, FL, USA 4650 Fowler Street, Fort Myers, FL, USA More locations coming soon! Assist in preparing warm and well balanced meals for our community through our soup kitchen shift. The soup kitchen will open from 10:30 AM to 12 PM and then we have a family meal. Family meal takes place from 12:20-12:50 in Sam's Community Café and Kitchen and invites all Community Cooperative Staff & Volunteers to share a meal together. Directions Upon Arrival: Please enter the gate at the side entrance next to a sign on the wall that says Welcome. If the gate is locked there is a doorbell on the wall inside of the gate on the left. The kitchen door is the first on the left and see a kitchen staff member or volunteer for an assignment. If this is your first shift please ask for a tour. If you would like a tour of the whole facility please contact Kate/ Brooke to set that up at Brooke@Communitycooperative.com or Kater@communitycooperative.com.
