You will do amazing tasks such as reading a story about the highlighted food, help with arts and crafts, and even hand out snacks! Our Flip participants are always excited to have us in the classroom and they always enjoy crafts and a healthy snack. You will be working closely with our social worker Jeremy, who often sports a fruit or vegetable costume! If you have not volunteered with Community Cooperative before, all FLIP volunteers must conduct a phone interview with a staff member of volunteer services. This must be conducted BEFORE your first FLIP shift. FLIP Occurs on Wednesdays alternating, the shift is from 9am-10:30am. Assist in preparing warm and well balanced meals for our community through our soup kitchen shift. The soup kitchen will open from 10:30 AM to 12 PM and then we have a family meal. Family meal takes place from 12:20-12:50 in Sam's Community Café and Kitchen and invites all Community Cooperative Staff & Volunteers to share a meal together. Directions Upon Arrival: Please enter the gate at the side entrance next to a sign on the wall that says Welcome. If the gate is locked there is a doorbell on the wall inside of the gate on the left. The kitchen door is the first on the left and see a kitchen staff member or volunteer for an assignment. If this is your first shift please ask for a tour.
