- Jul 30 – Oct 30*Ongoing* Education Table Volunteer Needed at Wonder GardensAs an oasis in Bonita Springs that serves generational audiences, The Wonder Gardens inspires and provides transformative experiences of wonder in the natural world. We are a historic botanical garden and zoological park that provides long term nurturing homes for exotic and local wildlife. Education Table volunteers will staff a table near a designated animal habitat or garden venue, greeting guests and providing information and/or simple activities for public visitors. Areas of choice include parrots, alligators, flamingos, orchids, pollinators, and more. Talking points, objects of interest, and activity supplies are provided. Must be comfortable speaking with guests of all ages, abilities, and cultures. Flexible scheduling between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, 7 days/week, beginning in September. Weekly or biweekly commitment. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Shifts are flexible and 3-4 hours long. - Jul 30 – Oct 30*Ongoing* *Education Majors Only* Cancer Alliance Network Needs Student Teachers to Assist with High School Volunteer ProgramThe Cancer Alliance Network is a local non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to local cancer patients during their treatment. We have a high school volunteer program called KidsCAN. This program is made up of local high school students who help fundraise for our organization as well as seek donations of money and items to help provide Thanksgiving meals to local cancer families, host a holiday party with gifts, games, food, etc. for local cancer families, help host a family staycation for local cancer families, and many other activities during the school year. We are looking for one or two students on the path to becoming teachers to help with communication and management of this program. This volunteer opportunity requires a commitment to help throughout the Lee and Collier county school year for 2025-2026. Volunteers will be required to attend regular KidsCAN meetings and help with notes and sending a recap to students, as well as helping organize donation drives and fundraisers along with students, and participating in volunteer opportunities with KidsCAN students. Some meetings will be available virtually, but most of the work will be required in-person. The majority of the in-person time will be at our Bonita Springs office (3384 Woods Edge Circle, Suite 102 Bonita Springs, FL 34134). There are a few instances where the volunteer address will also be Naples, Estero, and Fort Myers. Times will be scheduled in advance but determined by the date of events. We will work with schedules as much as possible but flexibility and dedication are a must on the part of volunteers. Dates, times, and shifts will vary. The majority of opportunities will be on weekdays with a few on weekends. - Jul 30 – Oct 30*Ongoing* Cancer Alliance Network Needs Volunteers to Help Secure Donations for Local Cancer PatientsThe Cancer Alliance Network is a local non-profit organization that provides financial assistance to local cancer patients during their treatment. We are looking for student volunteers to help our KidsCAN high school volunteer program by hosting fundraisers and donation drives for local cancer families. This includes fundraising to help provide Thanksgiving meals to local cancer families served by CAN, donation drives, and helping raise money to cover the costs of the annual CAN Family Holiday party in December for local cancer families, fundraising to help provide financial assistance for local cancer families, and helping fundraise to help cover the costs of our annual CAN Family Weekend (June 2026) for local cancer families. Both in-person and virtual opportunities. Days and times vary depending on the events that we host and what the volunteers will do independently. - Sep 17:00 AMFun Time Early Childhood Academy Needs Volunteers for Labor Day 5K at Baker ParkWe’re looking for FGCU students to volunteer at the Labor Day 5K on Monday, September 1st from 7:00 AM–10:00 AM at Baker Park. This community race is hosted annually by Gulf Coast Runners, and Fun Time Early Childhood Academy is proud to be this year’s beneficiary. Volunteers will help with: - Event setup and breakdown - Water stations and snack tables - Distributing t-shirts and runner welcome bags - Cheering on runners along the route It’s a great way to get involved in the community, earn service-learning hours, and support early education in Collier County. About Fun Time Early Childhood Academy: Our mission is to provide affordable, high-quality early learning for underserved children from working families, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond. We serve children from infants through age 5 in a safe, nurturing, and education-focused environment while also offering support services to families.
