- Aug 30 – Dec 27Volunteers Needed for Female Youth Foster Care Home Visit with Advance the FaithAdvance the Faith is in need of volunteers to join them on monthly visits to their partner children's home, Ivy Villa, in Central Florida. One Saturday a month, Advance the Faith will take a small team to Ivy Villa in in Bartow, FL (a home for girls in foster care ages 12-17). The team meets in Estero and carpools with staff to the home to spend an afternoon with the youth playing games, creating fun crafts, teaching life-skills, teaching personal success skills, leading devotionals and worship, and sharing a meal with the them. All volunteers must undergo a background check and training with our staff via Zoom. Gas for travel and lunch is provided by Advance the Faith for our volunteers. Advance the Faith believes that every person has value & purpose in Christ, we mentor young adults and partner with children's homes to support the physical, emotional, & spiritual needs of vulnerable children giving them a hope for their future & ours. One Saturday a month (week/date varies each month) from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (includes travel time). - Sep 1 – Dec 31Volunteers Needed for Youth Vault Financial Literacy Program with Advance the FaithAdvance the Faith is in need of FGCU students to serve at the Vault Financial Literacy Program that they run on a monthly basis at Oasis Youth Shelter. An emergency shelter for youth in crisis situations or who have recently been removed from an unsafe environment to be placed in foster care. Their faith-based program provides lessons and activities to teach basic financial literacy skills to empower high school students as they prepare for independent living. Volunteers assist staff with the program through set up, keeping track of participation points, assisting students, and helping teach lessons, if desired. Volunteers may select dates that they are available, as they do not have to attend all of the 5 sessions per month. Background checks are required. This program is run on a monthly basis of 5 sessions per month on Mondays and Wednesdays (dates vary each month on which 5 days). Volunteers are needed from 3:15 PM - 4:30 PM. - Jun 1–30Volunteers Needed for Summer 2026 Cat Island, Bahamas Mission TripAdvance the Faith is seeking students to come serve with them on their annual summer mission trip to Cat Island, Bahamas to serve children. Every year, they host a camp for the children & youth in foster care from the Old Bight Mission Home on Cat Island, Bahamas. This camp consists of various activities to reinforce life-skills, personal-success skills, team-building, and faith-based content. Mission team members can help with leading activities, preaching messages, leading worship and devotionals, leading games, and preparing meals. We would get to know you, your gifts, your passions, and your personality to explore what areas you want to serve in on the trip! FGCU Trip Participants earn 40 Service-Learning Hours. Trip Cost: Estimated at $950 plus airfare cost (payments are due in increments) All participants are required to complete a trip application, background check, zoom training and have a passport that is valid through January 2027. The exact dates of this trip are To Be Determined, but it will be a full week in June 2026. - Aug 1–31Volunteers Needed for Summer 2026 Nassau, Bahamas Mission TripAdvance the Faith is looking for FGCU students to come serve with them on their annual summer mission trip to Nassau, Bahamas to serve youth. Every year, THEY host a camp for the youth in foster care from Ranfurly Homes for Children & Elizabeth Estates Children's Home. This camp consists of workshops on various life-skills, personal-success skills, team-building games, and faith-based content. During this trip, we will also host a gathering for those who have aged out of foster care that have been a part of our programming and camps for several years. Mission team members can help with teaching workshops, preaching messages, leading worship and devotionals, leading games, and preparing meals.
