    AI Challenge Fellowship Program

    Empowering Faculty to Lead in AI-Enhanced Education
    Facilitated by Dendritic: A Human-Centered AI & Data Science Institute

    ✅ About the Fellowship

    The WCE AI Challenge Fellowship is a year-long initiative designed to support faculty at FGCU who are ready to explore and integrate artificial intelligence into their teaching practices. The program builds a vibrant community of practice, driving innovation and student engagement across education in all academic units on campus.

    ✅ Program Highlights

    • Collaborative community of AI-curious educators

    • Monthly themed sessions on AI tools, ethics, assessments & automation

    • Mentorship, toolkits, and structured support throughout the academic year

    • Participation in Showcases

    • Access to Dendritic resources and events

    • $2,000 stipend and official AI Teaching Fellow recognition

    ✅ Faculty Commitments

    • Integrate AI tools or methods into your course(s)

    • Participate in monthly meetings (90 minutes)

    • Collect feedback and reflect on student experiences

    • Share outcomes at events

    ✅ Fellowships Available

    The U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering is offering up to 5 fellows for WCE and up to 5 fellows open to faculty of any academic unit at FGCU. The selection will be made by an internal committee led by and at the discretion of the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, in partnership with the Dendritic Institute.

    ✅ Prerequisite Training – MSLE AI Bootcamp

    To participate in the fellowship, you must complete the Microsoft Learn for Educators (MSLE) Generative AI for Teaching & Foundational AI Bootcamp offered by the Dendritic Institute:

    • May 7 (in-person) & May 8 (remote)

    • Hands-on training and foundational AI literacy
