- Sep 4 – Oct 18Volunteers Needed at Al-Anon Family GroupsAl-Anon Family Groups is a non-profit organiztion who supports people who have been affected by someone else's drinking. They are looking for FGCU students who would be interested in assisting them with the following opportunities... Informational Tablings: - Students would table at any of the 5 locations listed below. - Tabling would include informational pamphlets and posters. Students would speak to the community about the organization. Date, Time, & Location: 1) Thur, Sept 25, 4pm-6pm; Heritage Charter K-8 Community Resource Fair; 2119 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral 2) Sat, Oct 4, 10am-1pm; OILE Organización Internacional de Latinos en el Exterior of SW FL, 81 Pondella Rd., N. Ft Myers 3) Sat, Oct 11, 10am-2pm; Seniors Expo; N. Ft Myers Rec Center, 2000 Recreation Park Way, N. Ft Myers 4) Wed, Oct 15, 11am-2pm; Second Chance Job Fair; Grace Church, 13 SE 21st Pl, Cape Coral 5) Sat, Oct 18, 11am-3pm; Source of Light and Hope Development Center Health Fair; 2666 Lime St., Ft Myers Peer-Perspective Presentation: (VIRTUAL) Students would create an informational presentation about the organization. - Review current PowerPoints for K-12 and Professionals to understand Al-Anon and Alateen and the different audiences. - Visit Al-Anon.org website to research Al-Anon vs. Alateen information and materials (books, blogs, etc.) - Ask questions of Lori and Debbie. - Create a peer-perspective PowerPoint and speaker notes for college student presentations. Students would start right away and have the powerpoint completed by October 14th, 2025. - Sep 4 – Dec 31*On Going* Volunteers Needed for Marketing at the Rotary Club of Charlotte Harbor SunsetCharlotte County Rotary is a local club of Rotary International. Rotary International has over 30,000 clubs in over 100 countries throughout the world. They are looking for an FGCU student who may be interested in assisting them with Marketing for their organization. This would include marketing for fundraising, activities, and teaching them how to use social media. The student would also receive a free membership to the club. Their meetings are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, at 6:00 PM. 1441 Tamiami Tr (Pt Charlotte Town Center) Also, available on ZOOM. Work will be mostly outside of meetings.
