- Sep 9 – Dec 31*Ongoing* Soup-erheroes Wanted: Student Volunteers Needed at Community CooperativeThe mission of Community Cooperative is to eliminate hunger and homelessness in southwest Florida while simultaneously inspiring and supporting sustained positive change in its clients by delivering innovative food, education and social service programs. Assist in preparing warm and well balanced meals for our community through our soup kitchen shift. The soup kitchen will open from 10:30 AM to 12 PM and then we have a family meal. Family meal takes place from 12:20-12:50 in Sam's Community Café and Kitchen and invites all Community Cooperative Staff & Volunteers to share a meal together. Directions Upon Arrival: Please enter the gate at the side entrance next to a sign on the wall that says Welcome. If the gate is locked there is a doorbell on the wall inside of the gate on the left. The kitchen door is the first on the left and see a kitchen staff member or volunteer for an assignment. If this is your first shift please ask for a tour. If you would like a tour of the whole facility please contact Kate/ Brooke to set that up at Brooke@Communitycooperative.com or Kater@communitycooperative.com. Please sign in and out at the sign up sheet across from the food serving station. *Close-toed shoes, hat or hair net are required. Crocs are not permitted How to Sign Up: First Step: create an account in our system. You can do that by clicking on the following link: https://communitycooperative.com/give-help/volunteer/ After scrolling down you will press “CLICK HERE” to get started! Once you have reached the site In the upper right corner, click on “Create An Account” to get started! After your application is received, we will conduct a background check. This process should only take 24-48 hours.
