- Feb 1–28Volunteers Needed for Big Cypress Celebration with The Alliance for Florida's National ParksThe Alliance for Florida's National Parks is looking for FGCU students to assist with event operations. Volunteers don’t need prior experience — just a willingness to listen, learn, and help guide guests through the day. Roles include: - Wet Walk Support (Sweeps & Guides): Walking alongside ranger-led groups, ensuring everyone stays together and assisting participants who may need extra guidance. - Check-In & Guest Services: Greeting attendees, assisting with event technology (such as check-in tablets or digital tools), and helping answer basic questions. Date & Time: February 28, 2026 from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Shifts are divided into morning and afternoon, so students can choose a timeframe that works best. Every volunteer helps create a welcoming and seamless experience that connects our community to the parks. There will be a virtual orientation session for the volunteers to attend. - Oct 294:30 PMVolunteers needed for Hallowine Walk with Blessings in a BackpackBlessings in a Backpack is looking for FGCU students who may be interested in assisting them with their Hollowine Walk. Hallowine is on October 29th, from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM, at the Mercato in Naples. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 4:30 PM. All volunteers will split into groups of 2-3 and will be positioned at different check points around Mercato and stamp passports. Volunteers need to be 18+, in attendance for the entirety of the event, must have own transportation to and from event. A shirt will be provided, please wear appropriate bottoms, no athletic wear, no holes in pants. If you're interested in this opportunity and would like to sign up, click here! - Dec 5–13Volunteers Needed for Wonderland Gift Shoppe at Hancock Creek ElementaryHancock Creek Elementary is looking for FGCU students who may be interested in assisting them with organizing and running their holiday Wonderland Gift Shoppe. The Wonderland Gift Shoppe gives their Pre-K through 5th grade students an opportunity to give back to their families for the holidays. It allows students to be thoughtful and considerate gift givers just before the holidays. The service includes setting up the shop, operating the shop on a daily basis and assisting students as they navigate budgeting and selecting purchases. This opportunity will be available starting on December 5th, 2025 and continue through December 13th, 2025. There will be shifts that students can volunteer to work ranging from 9:00 AM - 2:45 PM. - Sep 128:30 AMVolunteers Needed for Makerpalooza with Southwest Florida Library NetworkSouthwest Florida Library Network is looking for FGCU students who are tech savvy to assist them at the Makerpalooza event on Friday, September 12th from 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Need assistance especially from 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM). This event will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Bell Tower in Fort Myers. Volunteer responsibilities will include: Tech Playground Support (1:30–2:30 PM): Demonstrating and assisting attendees with various hands-on technology tools such as drones, 3D pens, button makers, Sphero robots, and more. Volunteers will help facilitate engagement and guide participants through using the equipment. General Event Support (Beginning at 8:30 AM): Assisting with check-in and registration, Handing out materials to attendees. Supporting presenters and helping troubleshoot minor issues (with assistance from SWFLN staff) Helping ensure the event runs smoothly overall.
