Gladiolus Food Pantry is looking for FGCU students who may be interested in assisting them with their food pantry every Wednesday. These end of Wednesday efforts begin at 3:00 PM and should be fully completed by 6:00pm.

Activities include dropping items, making noise, and trying to get the dog's attention while they stay focused. π₯ Volunteers Needed: 4 β½ Soccer, Basketball & Snack Distractions Date & Time: Tuesday, September 30, 2025, from 6:00 – 7:30 PM π Location: Fort Myers Library (2450 First Street, outside main entrance) Details: Bring a soccer ball and basketball to play near the dogs. Volunteers will also sit and snack around the dogs to help with distraction training. π₯ Volunteers Needed: 6 π Halloween Parade with Dogs Inc. Date & Time: Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 PM π Location: Meet in costume outside Fort Myers Library (2450 First Street) Details: Dress up and walk with the dogs in the Halloween Parade downtown. Help introduce the group to the public and act as fun distractions. π₯ Volunteers Needed: 4 π Dog Photos with Santa – Volunteer Distractions Date & Time: Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 PM π Location: Bass Pro Shop, 10040 Gulf Center Drive (Gulf Coast Mall), Fort Myers Details: Volunteers will help keep the dogs focused during their Santa photo sessions by leading them through the store and acting as distractions. π₯ Volunteers Needed: 4 If you're interested in this opportunity and would like to sign up, please contact Sandra Terranova at sjterranova@sbcglobal.net. Our mission is to build stronger communities by supporting residents on their path to self-sufficiency. They are looking for FGCU students who may be interested in getting involved in assisting with youth programs (tutoring, homework help, enrichment), supporting adult workshops (health, financial literacy, job readiness), helping with community events, and providing program support. These opportunities give students hands-on experience in community engagement and nonprofit services. This opportunity is available any weekday, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.
