The Community of Care Campus Network is a 3-hour workshop - This workshop is for Students only! There will be another workshop for Faculty/Staff offered later this semester. This workshop will cover topics such as: College student mental health, active listening & empathy, crisis de-escalation skills, suicide prevention & intervention, and connecting students to support. At the completion of this training, individuals will receive a certificate of completion, as well as a Community of Care Campus Network sticker. Join the Roots of Compassion & Kindness (ROCK) Center for Rock of Ages Training! Rock of Ages is an intergenerational storytelling project that pairs FGCU students with community members for meaningful conversations. Together, they’ll build connections, share stories, and document life experiences through film.

Hitch a ride on our famous yellow golf cart! If you are on main campus, we will pick you up and give you a ride to your destination within the main perimeter of campus. On your way to class or back to your room, we will ask you trivia questions related to health and wellness!  The first 20 passengers will receive $5 Eagle Dollars on their Eagle Account within 1-3 business days, which can be used for student printers, laundry facilities, vending machines, dining locations. Passengers must sign a form in order to receive the $5 in their Eagle Account.

The Roots of Compassion & Kindness (ROCK) Center will be hosting tabling events on the Library Lawn throughout October and into early November, leading up to World Kindness Day (November 13, 2025). Students who participate in tabling can earn service-learning hours while advocating for the Center and helping to raise awareness about our upcoming events and opportunities.

The Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is looking for FGCU students to volunteer as pottery/ceramics instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive space where children can explore creativity, build new skills, and grow in confidence. Mondays on these specific days: August 25th, September 15th, October 6th, October 27th, November 17th from 3pm-5pm What We Need: FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school pottery or ceramics session (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide students through simple, beginner-friendly clay projects, foster creativity, and encourage hands-on learning in a fun, positive environment. No professional teaching experience is required—just a passion for working with youth and an interest in ceramics.
