On Friday evening, June 6, a U.S. District Court judge approved the legal settlement in the case of NCAA v. House. This marks a historic and transformative moment - arguably the most impactful shift the intercollegiate athletics landscape has ever seen.Linked here you will find a high-level summary outlining the case and its far-reaching implications. As previously announced earlier this spring, FGCU is all in and prepared to move forward in this new era of intercollegiate athletics. This moment, which does come with challenges, provides FGCU with an opportunity to think boldly and act strategically. As a university, FGCU is confident in our ability to take advantage of this new era to further our Journey to Excellence while being a leader amongst our peers. The scale and complexity of these changes require thoughtful collaboration and teamwork across campus and within our community. Within the university, cross campus leaders will work together to ensure alignment with FGCU's institutional values and goals as we navigate these new complexities. Within the community, FGCU Athletics will strengthen our engagement with SWFL to enhance the championship resources needed to support our student-athletes.We deeply value our campus and community partnerships as we embrace this transformative moment together.Wings Up and Go Eagles!
