FORT MYERS, Fla. – With a weather forecast calling for a likely washout Monday, tee times have been moved up, and Florida Gulf Coast University will begin play in the NCAA Women's Golf Lubbock Regional on Sunday afternoon at The Rawls Course in Lubbock, Texas.

The Eagles are seeded No. 10 in the 12-team regional. FGCU earned its spot by winning the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship for the first time in program history. The Eagles rallied from a 10-stroke deficit entering the final round and pulled within one shot down the stretch. On the final hole of regulation, Lousiane Gauthier sank a birdie putt to force a tie with Stetson. The playoff went four holes, with Gauthier, Posie Farrelly, Amelie Alcantara, Islay Benoit and Leonie Wulfers all contributing before FGCU secured the victory.

The same five players who won the ASUN title will compete in Lubbock. Wulfers will tee off first for FGCU at 2:25 p.m. Central on No. 10. Benoit follows at 2:36 p.m., Alcantara at 2:47 p.m., Farrelly at 2:58 p.m., and Gauthier at 3:09 p.m.

FGCU will be paired with Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for the first two rounds. Teams will be regrouped after the opening round. Texas is the top seed in the Lubbock Regional with Wake Forest No. 2 and Arizona No. 3.

The top five teams after three rounds, along with the lowest-scoring individual not on one of those teams, will advance to the NCAA Championship, scheduled for May 16–21 in Carlsbad, California.
