Florida Gulf Coast University's Lousiane Gauthier carded an even-par 72 to jump 22 spots up the leaderboard in the third round of the NCAA Division I Women's Golf Championship at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa's North Course in Carlsbad, California.

The junior finished her run at the championship tied for 122nd after being cut ahead of Monday's final round. Still, Gauthier showed steady improvement throughout the tournament. After opening with an 83 (+11), she trimmed seven strokes off her score in Saturday's second round with a 76 (+4).

Gauthier began her final round on No. 10 and dropped a shot on the following hole. From there, she strung together seven consecutive pars to post a 37 on her opening nine.

She extended her par streak to nine with two more to start the front side. On No. 3, Gauthier recorded her first birdie on a par-3 during the tournament, returning to even par for the round. A bogey on No. 4 was followed by a par on No. 5.

In the opening round, holes 6 through 8 proved costly, as she played them in 9-over par. On Sunday, she found redemption. Gauthier birdied the par-5 sixth to get back to even par, then closed with three straight pars to finish with a 72.

Gauthier made history as the first FGCU golfer to qualify for a Division I national championship. Her performance in Carlsbad capped a remarkable three-tournament stretch. At the ASUN Championship on April 15, she sank a birdie putt on the final hole of regulation—after already clinching the individual title—to force a team playoff. The Eagles went on to win in four holes, advancing to the NCAA Regional in Lubbock, Texas.

On May 6, Gauthier placed fourth in the final round of the regional, earning a spot at nationals as the top individual not on an advancing team.
