Flaherty joins softball coaching staff as Assistant Coach

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Devyn Flaherty has been added to Florida Gulf Coast University softball's coaching staff as an assistant coach, head coach Lindsay Fico announced today.

FORT MYERS, Fla. - Devyn Flaherty has been added to Florida Gulf Coast University softball's coaching staff as an assistant coach, head coach Lindsay Fico announced today.

"We are thrilled to welcome Devyn Flaherty to the FGCU softball family," Fico said. "Devyn brings a championship mentality, elite playing experience and a tireless work ethic that will elevate our program on and off the field. Her passion for the game, leadership and drive to develop our athletes align perfectly with our vision for FGCU softball. We're excited for the impact she'll make on our student-athletes and the culture we're building here in Fort Myers."

Flaherty comes to The Nest after one season with Fico at Mercer and a storied playing career at Florida State. While at Florida State, Flaherty played in two Women's College World Series championship series against Oklahoma. She was part of the only team to take a game from the Sooners in the WCWS championship series during the team's four straight national titles.

The Sarasota, Fla. native's career in Garnett and Gold is well decorated. She earned 2024 Second Team All-ACC, 2023 NFCA Southeast All-Region Third Team, 2023 All-ACC Second Team, 2023 Preseason All-ACC First Team, 2022 ACC All-Tournament Team, 2022 All-ACC Second Team, 2021 All-ACC First Team and 2021 All-ACC Freshman Team. Flaherty primarily played at second base in Tallahassee amassing the fourth-most games played in FSU's history. She is a career .322 hitter with a .876 OPS at Florida State. Flaherty currently plays professionally with the Orlando Monarchs.
