Five FGCU softball players earn CSC Academic All-District honors
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Five Florida Gulf Coast University softball players have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, the organization announced today. Avery Viancos, Olivia Black, Emily Chiarella, Victoria Ash and Maddox Thomas were all named to the team.
Viancos graduated a year early carrying a 4.0 GPA with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and cognition. She is currently taking prerequisite courses for a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. Viancos has a career 4.0 GPA.
Black graduated three semesters early also with a perfect 4.0 GPA in Forensic Studies. She is currently earning her master's degree in Forensic Studies for a concentration in Human Indemnity Analysis. She is the youngest person in her program. Black wants to work in forensic anthropology.
Chiarella possesses a career 3.938 GPA while earning a 4.0 GPA in the Spring 2025 semester as a Biology major. Chiarella aspires to attend medical school and become a doctor.
Ash has a cumulative 3.922 GPA as a Biology major. The Southwest Florida native is in her first year after FGCU after transferring in. She wants to pursue a career as a chiropractor.
Thomas has a 4.0 GPA at FGCU. The catcher from Claremore, Oklahoma is a Child and Youth Studies Major and wants to work as a special education teacher.
