Viancos and Black named to All-Academic team
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Avery Viancos and Olivia Black were to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference Academic Team. This is second time Viancos and Black have been named to All-Academic team.
Viancos graduated a year early carrying a 4.0 GPA with a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and cognition. She is currently taking prerequisite courses for a Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program. Viancos has a career 4.0 GPA.
Black graduated three semesters early also with a perfect 4.0 GPA in Forensic Studies. She is currently earning her master's degree in Forensic Studies for a concentration in Human Indemnity Analysis. She is the youngest person in her program.
Viancos played every out this season for the Eagles. Her 30 steals on the season are 11 more than any non-FGCU player in the ASUN and tied for 22nd in the country. Viancos led FGCU in hits (59), triples (4) and total bases (74) while being top three in batting average (.339), slugging (.425), OBP (.389), OPS (.814), runs (32), doubles (4) and RBI (25).
Black started every game in left field for the Green and Blue. Her 38 steals are the most in the ASUN, double any non-FGCU player, and currently put her at ninth in the nation. It is also the most any FGCU player in the school's DI era. In conference play black was top 10 in the ASUN in runs scored (25, first), triples (4, first), stolen bases (28, first), hits (32, fifth), batting average (.432, fifth) and on base percentage (.494, 10th). Black had nine more stolen bases in conference play than any ASUN player had all year; she more than doubles the stolen base output of any non-FGCU player in ASUN play.
Black led FGCU in OPS (.826), runs (43), triples (4), slugging percentage (.436) and stolen bases (38). In conference play, Black led the team in batting average (.432), OPS (1.048), runs (25), hits (32), triples (4), total bases (41), slugging percentage (.554), walks (10), on base percentage (.494) and steals (28).
