Black, Nelson earn Suncoast Scholar-Athlete honors for April
FORT MYERS, Fla. - Florida Gulf Coast University Athletics is proud to announce Olivia Black of softball and Jaret Nelson of baseball as the Suncoast Credit Union Scholar-Athletes of the Month for April.
Olivia Black, a standout on the softball team, is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Forensic Studies and holds a perfect 4.0 GPA. On the field, Black was named to the Second Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference and set a new FGCU single-season record with 38 stolen bases.
Jaret Nelson, a key contributor to the baseball team, maintains a 3.83 GPA while majoring in Entrepreneurship. At the plate, Nelson is hitting .319 for the season, with seven home runs and 18 runs batted in.
The Suncoast Credit Union Scholar-Athlete of the Month award recognizes FGCU student-athletes who demonstrate excellence in both academics and athletics.
