- Oct 133:00 PMShare Your Skills – Teach Kids to Cook at The Salvation Army Youth CenterThe Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is seeking FGCU students to volunteer as culinary instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive environment where children can develop new skills, build confidence, and explore creativity. What We Need:FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school cooking class (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide youth through simple, beginner-friendly recipes, promote healthy eating habits, and create a fun, hands-on learning experience. No professional cooking experience is required—just a passion for teaching and working with kids. Mondays on the following dates from 4:00pm-5:00pm: September 1st, September 22nd, October 13th, and November 3rd Interested FGCU students should email Megan Francis at megan.francis@uss.salvationarmy.org with the subject line "FGCU Culinary Instructor – Youth Center".
