Andrea Nocentini has an education in forestry, agriculture, and natural resource management. During his PhD at University of Bologna, he researched for four years carbon fluxes due to land use change to perennial bioenergy crops. After, he worked at FIU and with the National Park Service, carrying out scientific research in Everglades freshwater wetlands, where he researched the biogeochemical and vegetation community dynamics as driven by the interaction of hydrologic and fire management. Students will assist with preparation for community outreach activities in the Lee County area. Students will have one-on-one interactions with community members, low-income populations, homeless populations in some aspects, and young adults. Students will assist in preparing promotional items such as condoms, pamphlets, and swag items for outreach activities.
