- Jun 46:30 AMRole Players needed for Active Shooter Scenario with Collier County Sheriff's OfficeTHE FGCU Department of Justice Studies needs volunteers to assist the Collier County Sheriff’s Office that will be holding a law enforcement active shooter training exercise, on June 4th, 2025 at North Naples Middle School and Aubrey Rogers High School. The training exercise will include multiple Law Enforcement agencies, Fire, and EMS. They need over 100 volunteers to participate as role players in the training scenario. This concentrated session provide practical skills and immediate applicable knowledge in specialized areas. Each participant must bring their own laptop to be able to develop and apply the applications presented. Instructor:Dr. Leandro de Castro Course Description:This hands-on workshop empowers participants to boost productivity using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, and other AI assistants. It covers prompt engineering, document automation, creative content generation, and workflow integration, tailored to both academic and professional environments. - Jun 42:30 PM*Ongoing* *On-Campus* Volunteers Needed to Assist the Special Olympics as a Play Pal!This is an innovative sports play program for children ages 2-7 with intellectual disabilities and their peers, designed to introduce them into the world of sports. The benefits to this program have been proven worldwide. First and foremost, these activities will help the children improve physically, cognitively and socially. This program will also raise awareness of the Special Olympics program and serve as an introduction to the resources and support available within Special Olympics Florida families, agencies and schools. Volunteers will act as play pals for children with/without disabilities for children between the ages of 2-7. The volunteers will need to be their 30 minutes before the start of the session for debrief, training and overview of the day. Volunteers will also need to stay 30 minutes after the session ends for clean up and reorganization. Volunteers are needed on Mondays and Wednesdays of June from 2:30-4:30 PM (2nd, 4th, 9th, 11th, 16th, 18th, 23rd, and 25th) Volunteers are asked to serve the entire time!
