- Sep 286:00 PMCancelled: Volunteers Needed for Bunche Beach CleanupEvent: Bunche Beach Cleanup- Honoring 2 Year Anniversary of Hurricane IanDate: September 28, 2024Time: 6:00 pm - 7:45 pm Location: Bunche Beach Preserve - 18201 John Morris Rd, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33908 What To Bring: Reuseable water bottle and wear comfortable clothes. We suggest a hat and sunglasses. What We Provide: All tools needed, sunblock, water refill jug, a designated team members who take pictures and ensure safety, and finally Pizza during sunset.Safety Guidelines: Drink plenty of water and take breaks as needed. Set a timer to come back at set time. Watch out for sharp objects, glass, and wildlife. Avoid heavy lifting and work with a buddy at all times. Do not touch hazardous materials such as needles or chemicals. Report heavy items to our designated team member.Post Cleanup: Weigh your buckets and join the group photo at 7:15 pm. Why Help: Beach cleanups are a last line of defense to prevent debris from causing harm to our oceans, to wildlife, to our coastal economies, and even beach-goers. After Hurricane Ian these efforts are needed more than ever.
