We are seeking FGCU students to assist with our upcoming event, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Southwest Florida, scheduled for October 26, 2025. Students can support by volunteering on event day (set-up, registration, water stations, cheering participants) or helping in the weeks leading up to the event with outreach, logistics, and awareness efforts. This event is hosted by the American Cancer Society, a nationwide, community-based health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Our mission is to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Funds raised support groundbreaking research, free patient programs, and access to lifesaving screenings and care. We would love to partner with FGCU students who are passionate about community service and making a meaningful impact. Students are welcome to attend when they can—there are no required shifts, and they do not need to stay for the entire event. Any time they’re able to volunteer is appreciated. Get service-learning hours. Develop your leadership skills.Be a Make A Difference Day Site Leader! The FGCU Office of Service-Learning & Civic Engagement is in need of students to serve as site leaders during the annual Make A Difference Day morning of service. Site leaders will help lead a service trip with roughly 25 student participants per site. You will work together with one or two additional site leaders to lead your site location. Locations will vary. Learn more about the Day of Service event here. The event runs 8am-1pm. However, we ask site leaders to arrive at 7am to help with setup and plan to stay until 2pm to help with any teardown that may be needed. You will engaged in 7 hours of service-learning toward your graduation requirement. You must attend a short training session. - Oct 257:30 AMVolunteer Photographer Needed for Golf Tournament with Warrior Homes of CollierPut your photography skills to use! We are looking for a volunteer photographer for our golf tournament. Must bring your own equipment and provide your own transportation. We prefer that the student serve for the entire tournament. Warrior Homes provides healthy and safe living environments for veterans in need of a hand up and not a handout. Warrior Homes started in early 2018 as the result of our community coming together to address the homeless issues faced by local veterans.
