Our community garden is in need of some TLC, and we’ll be planting and weeding to help it thrive. Be prepared to get your hands dirty! Please wear comfortable clothing, closed-toe shoes, and bring a refillable water bottle. We’ll provide all the necessary tools, plus snacks and water—just bring your energy and enthusiasm! Directions: Bloomingful Community Garden is located in the rear of Gulf Coast Medical Center. Once you enter the campus from Daniels Parkway, follow the red directional signs by taking a right onto Doctors Way. Continue around the right side of the building, loop around the back, and park in the designated area near the community garden—just past the emergency entrance.You’ll see signs and team members near the garden space to welcome you!We can’t wait to see you there! 🌿 Volunteers are required to serve the entire time! - Aug 18 – Dec 12*Virtual* *Ongoing* Service Learning with Switch4Good's Campus Action NowSwitch4Good is galvanizing a worldwide movement, paving the way for a plant-rich food system without all the inequities, biases, and inefficiencies of the current legacy situation, starting with the most vulnerable animal food, dairy. Our vision is a world where compassion replaces exploitation, where animals and people thrive, free from profit-driven harm in our food system. Service learning projects with Switch4Good’s Campus Action Now can take many forms, with some options including recipe development, research and writing, argumentative writing, legislative advocacy, and educational outreach. All projects center around learning how moving away from dairy can push the world toward a more sustainable, just, and compassionate food environment. Service learners work toward deliverables that are used in Switch4Good’s advocacy and awareness campaigns, building professional skills and competencies that empower them to make tangible changes in their communities. Volunteers are needed from 08/18/25-12/12/25. Students can serve at varying times within this range, but they will need to be able to serve for a substantial number of weeks (at least half of the term).
