Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination and to nurture the mind, body, and spirit through quality programs and services. What We Need:FGCU students to volunteer as after-school tutors, helping elementary and middle school students with homework, reading, math, and study skills. Volunteers will provide one-on-one or small group academic support, encourage positive attitudes toward learning, and serve as role models. No prior tutoring experience is required—just a willingness to help and a passion for empowering youth. - Aug 253:00 PMShare Your Creativity: Teach Pottery to Youth at The Salvation Army of Collier CountyThe Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is looking for FGCU students to volunteer as pottery/ceramics instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive space where children can explore creativity, build new skills, and grow in confidence. Mondays on these specific days: August 25th, September 15th, October 6th, October 27th, November 17th from 3pm-5pm What We Need:FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school pottery or ceramics session (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide students through simple, beginner-friendly clay projects, foster creativity, and encourage hands-on learning in a fun, positive environment. No professional teaching experience is required—just a passion for working with youth and an interest in ceramics. Students are welcome to join in team building group challenges like Human knot, Human bingo, the great marble race, and minute to win it challenges by team. During the event each team will select “champions” to play each minute to win it event. Minute to win it challenges include games such as "junk in the trunk," speed stacking cups, ninja spin playing cards to a target, and much more! The team with the most wins, wins the entire night. Minute to win it challenges will be broken up team building group challenges. You can come as an individual, with a couple friends, or with your own team already formed!
