Athletics posts 3.52 Spring Semester GPA
FORT MYERS, Fla. – Florida Gulf Coast University's 251 student-athletes posted the highest semester grade-point average in department history, earning a combined 3.52 GPA for the spring 2025 semester.
"These results are a direct reflection of our student-athletes' dedication to academic excellence, as well as the supportive environment fostered by our faculty, staff and administration," said Dr. Ashley Kuhn, associate athletics director and director of student-athlete success.
More than 85% of FGCU's student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with 62% achieving a 3.5 or better. Among undergraduates, 38% made the Dean's List, and another 19% were named to the President's List.
Five teams recorded their highest semester GPAs in program history: women's basketball (3.68), men's basketball (3.39), women's soccer (3.81), men's soccer (3.50) and men's tennis (3.75).
In cumulative GPA, women's cross country (3.65) and swimming and diving (3.68) posted the highest marks in their respective program histories.
This spring, 39 student-athletes graduated from FGCU, with 36 earning undergraduate degrees and three earning master's degrees. In addition, two student-athletes completed graduate certificate programs.
