Whether that be greeting visitors, offering comfort to patients, or supporting staff behind the scenes. Get an insider’s view of what it’s like to work at an academic medical center. See researchers, medical residents, and a variety of patient care providers in action in their daily roles. NCH offers a variety of volunteer roles and make sure you have the information and training to make you feel confident as an NCH volunteer. In addition to new volunteer orientation, you’ll receive customer service training, a hospital tour and orientation to floors you’ll visit as a volunteer, and a review of infection control and other safety-related precautions. Date and Times are TBD, but students will be asked to commit to four-hour shifts at a time. (MAC) is seeking FGCU students with their own photography equipment to capture high-quality photos of our weekly programs and events. This role provides hands-on experience and portfolio-building opportunities while supporting My Autism Connection (MAC), nonprofit serving autistic adults ages 18+. Their mission is to provide a supportive community where members can develop skills, build friendships, and increase independence through workshops, social activities, and professional development. By photographing their programs, you’ll help to share their story and raise awareness of their mission. - Aug 30 – Dec 27Volunteers Needed for Male Youth Foster Care Home Visit with Advance the FaithAdvance the Faith is in need of volunteers to join them on monthly visits to their partner children's home, Ivy Villa, in Central Florida. One Saturday a month, Advance the Faith will take a small team to Anchor House in Auburndale, FL (a home for boys in foster care ages 10-17). The team meets in Estero and carpools with staff to the home to spend an afternoon with the youth playing games, creating fun crafts, teaching life-skills, teaching personal success skills, leading devotionals and worship, and sharing a meal with the them. All volunteers must undergo a background check and training with our staff via Zoom. Gas for travel and lunch is provided by Advance the Faith for our volunteers. Advance the Faith believes that every person has value & purpose in Christ, we mentor young adults and partner with children's homes to support the physical, emotional, & spiritual needs of vulnerable children giving them a hope for their future & ours. One Saturday a month (week/date varies each month) from 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (includes travel time). A typical shift would be 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or whatever the student is willing to cover, with some events happening on weekends and evenings.
