Black Student Alliance

337 members

The Black Student Alliance (BSA) at Florida Gulf Coast University is a student-led organization committed to promoting unity, culture, and excellence throughout the campus and surrounding community. BSA provides a platform for students to celebrate and amplify Black identity while fostering an inclusive environment that embraces individuals of all backgrounds.

Membership is open to all degree-seeking FGCU students, offering opportunities to engage in cultural programming, leadership development, and community-building activities. Members play a vital role in advancing BSA’s mission by supporting initiatives that empower students academically, socially, and professionally.

Central to BSA’s purpose is strengthening the connection between the university and the broader community. The organization organizes cultural events, educational workshops, and community service projects that highlight the richness of Black heritage while addressing issues of equity and access. Through these efforts, BSA contributes to raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and inspiring action to create positive change both on and off campus.

The Black Student Alliance also seeks to inspire the next generation of leaders by encouraging academic success and increasing college enrollment rates among students in under-resourced communities. By working with community partners, activists, and volunteers, BSA extends its impact beyond FGCU to empower and uplift the wider community.

At its core, the Black Student Alliance is a space where students come together to learn, serve, and lead, all while celebrating the values of unity, culture, and excellence.
