The Oyster Boys' Conservation Chapter at Florida Gulf Coast University aims to educate students about research/ service-learning opportunities in Southwest Florida while giving them the tools to tackle diverse environmental problems. Our main focus is water conservation through Vertical Oyster Gardens (VOGs) to help clean polluted waters. Students will learn about water conservation, how to make VOGs, and earn service-learning hours while having fun!! Follow our Instagram if you are interested in learning more!

From 4:00 - 6:00 PM (service-learning hours included), we’ll come together to protect our community, create friendships, and keep our oceans thriving for both wildlife and our community. Including the beautiful view of the sunset! 📍 Location: Little Hickory Beach 🕣 Time: 4:00 - 6:00 PM No equipment is needed and bring a friend!
Mon, Nov 10Vertical Oyster Garden Punch Party with the Calusa WaterkeeperJoin us for Vertical Oyster Garden (VOG) Building with the Calusa Waterkeeper at the Food Forest! The Calusa Waterkeeper will demonstrate hole-punching in recycled oyster shells, then allow us to try for ourselves! A great opportunity to earn service-learning hours, learn the ropes of VOG-building, and contribute to water conservation in Southwest Florida.
