First Meeting Recap
Information about the first meeting of the semester on Tuesday, January 21st.
Hello Everyone!
Thank you to those of you who came out to our first meeting this semester on Tuesday night! We talked more in depth about all of the upcoming opportunities for this semester. If you are interested, or would like more information about them, please email me and I'll be happy to explain the details!
We have an additional service learning opportunity that was presented to us after the meeting. Treeline Elementary School is having a Winter Festival on Friday February 7th after school. They are looking for volunteers to participate and run a face painting booth with the children. If you are interested please email me ASAP! There are limited slots! You will earn service learning hours for this event.
We are also going to plan a second trip to Give Kids the World because there are so many students interested in the volunteering at their facility! We will probably set this trip up for early April on either a Saturday or Sunday. If you are interested please let me know so I can add you to the list. I have to give GKTW a headcount before booking our volunteer slots. If we can raise some money this semester, an overnight hotel stay will be included.

All funds go towards professional development, traveling, t-shirts, etc. The more we raise, the more we can do! Please share this like through Facebook! We are also in the process of planning a night at Jason's Deli and I will announce the date as soon as we find out when it will be!
Saturday February 1st we will be running/walking and volunteering at Tyler and Jason's 5K Run for Cerebral Palsy! Vice President Danielle Davis has organized this event. 100% of net proceeds will be donated to United Cerebral Palsy of SW Fl to aid local families who are affected by CP and to Kennedy Krieger for research. If you are interested in participating in the 5K you must register online by January 31st! Our next meeting will be on Monday February 3rd at noon! As soon as we receive our room assignment I will send out an email. This was the most popular time and day as indicated by the survey. PLEASE fill it out so we know when the best times are! It only takes 2 minutes to do.
