FGCU Fishing Club Beach Clean up

The FGCU Fishing Club was able to attend an event that Keep Lee County Beautiful was hosting during the boat race on Fort Myers beach.  Our job was to walk up and down the beach picking up trash and handing out trash bags to people to encourage them to throughout their trash and not leave it on the beach. While we were there many people were very appreciative of us taking our time to ensure that beach stays clean. We were able to pick up lots of plastics that were left and many bottle tops that were left on the beach.  All 6 of us were able to collect 5 pounds of trash each during our 6 hours there.  We really enjoyed working with Keep Lee County Beautiful and look forward to working with them again in the future.
