Promotion Meetings for Alpha Phi Omega

Promotion Meetings for Alpha Phi Omega

Greetings!

We are conducting 4 information meetings to see if there is interest among the students of FGCU to establish a chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity.  Alpha Phi Omega (APO), is the largest "Greek letter organization" in the country, and is a co-ed service fraternity established on the principles of the Scout Oath and Law.  The fraternity is open to all students, and there is no requirement of any prior membership to join, nor would your membership in other organizations, such as a general or social fraternity or sorority, bar you from joining.

APO's Vision and Mission is to create inclusive communities for a more peaceful world in which to make a life, by developing leaders, uniting members through friendship and rendering service to all.  We do this thru our service program built around 4 fields of service: campus, community, nation, and fraternity.  Each chapter, under the leadership of its officers, creates its own service program, which can include working with other organizations on and off campus, and developing its own service events as well as helping out existing events.  Our members learn leadership hands-on, by running their chapter and programs, helped by our APO's leadership development programs such as APO LEADS and APO Impact.

At these 4 meetings you get the chance to speak with APO members, including student members.  We'll answer your questions about APO and the process of establishing a chapter.

We currently have over 320 chapters across the US, several here in Florida, including at UF, USF, UCF, FSU, and UM, among others.  Our most recent chapter was established earlier this year at St Petersburg College.

We have partnerships with several national service organizations, including a recent partnership with the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance which allows our members to obtain their Certified Nonprofit Professional certification at a discounted rate.
