Fort Myers Beach Cleanup

This past Friday, September 5th, 11 members from the Fishing Club participated in a Fort Myers Beach cleanup, which was put together by the organization, Love Blue FGCU. During this two-hour beach cleanup, which was from 6:30 to 8:30 PM, we collected tons of different plastics and metals, such as bottle caps, wrappers, fishing baits, and cords.

Participating in these local cleanups is very important to our club, as many of us hope to reduce the amount of debris and microplastics that end up in our waterways. This was an excellent way to start our semester, and we look forward to participating in many more beach cleanups this year!
