Hackathon Prep Night: Building Teams & Pitching Ideas
On Wednesday, September 24, the FGCU Computer Science & Software Engineering Club (CSSEC) hosted its Hackathon Prep Night, bringing together students eager to sharpen their skills before upcoming hackathon competitions.
The session highlighted the core elements of hackathon success: how to build effective teams, generate creative and feasible project ideas, and navigate competitions with proven strategies. Officers shared tips on everything from managing time and resources to presenting projects with confidence.
To put these concepts into practice, students formed small teams and participated in pitching exercises, simulating the experience of presenting to judges. This hands on activity encouraged collaboration, creativity, and public speaking...all key components of hackathon readiness.
The event underscored CSSEC’s commitment to preparing students not only with technical skills but also with the teamwork and communication tools needed to thrive in fast paced environments. Whether attendees were new to hackathons or seasoned participants, everyone left better equipped to compete and innovate.
