We’ll explore how proper asset management, inventory control, and disposal practices help prevent risk and ensure accountability. Whether you’re handling equipment, managing budgets, overseeing operations, or just want to understand the process— this session gives you the tools to help protect FGCU’s resources.

The Salvation Army of Collier County Youth Center is looking for FGCU students to volunteer as pottery/ceramics instructors for our after-school program. Our mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by offering programs that nurture the mind, body, and spirit. At the Youth Center, we provide a safe and supportive space where children can explore creativity, build new skills, and grow in confidence. Mondays on these specific days: August 25th, September 15th, October 6th, October 27th, November 17th from 3pm-5pm What We Need: FGCU students to lead a one-hour prep time and one-hour after-school pottery or ceramics session (3:00–5:00 PM) for elementary and middle school students. Volunteers will guide students through simple, beginner-friendly clay projects, foster creativity, and encourage hands-on learning in a fun, positive environment. No professional teaching experience is required—just a passion for working with youth and an interest in ceramics. The Global Engagement Office invites you to experience the world at FGCU through food, cultural performances, and guest speakers. This event is free and open to all! Doors open at 5 p.m. and program starts at 5:30 p.m.

Sleep is vital to success in classes, work, and personal life. However, most students sacrifice their sleep to balance everything on their plate. Studies reveal that when people fail to get enough sleep, concentration and memory can suffer. This table gives students the opportunity to learn what can help and hinder their sleep by navigating their way across our game board to collect as many hours of sleep as they can! It also offers a unique activity, allowing students to try meditation or a breathing exercise! This is a simple technique every student can use before bed to help them relax and have a better night’s sleep.
