Volunteers support participants as friendly companions and encouragers, including walking with individuals who have Parkinson’s and mobility challenges. May also be asked to provide navigational assistance. No medical care is required, and volunteers will receive guidance and on-site support. Sat, Apr 11Participate in the Restoration and Creation of an Incredible Eco Wellness Park in the Heart of Estero!This is an incredible service-learning opportunity for students to learn about the history of Estero, Happehatchee park, and be immersed in nature! This park was once a thriving community that offered yoga, meditation, sound healing, and gardening. The park was devastated by several hurricanes and our mission is to restore and re-create a park that will bring people back to wellness, and thrive through community and nature. This is an incredible opportunity for any students, and you will work among an amazing team and learn about the environment, the history of Estero, community outreach, landscaping, and gardening. We have something special planned for student volunteers following the learning day! Students will complete their service-learning hours through a restoration project at the Happehatchee Center, located within Ellen Peterson Park on Corkscrew Road in Estero, Florida. You will engage in hands-on restoration that advances ecological health while strengthening place-based sustainability, applied ecological literacy, and community partnership. We are having Father and Daughter Teams and Mother and Son Teams compete with other teams. We will also have food, music, games, crafts and prizes! We will need helpers in all of the areas listed above to assist with serving food, doing crafts, playing games, and organizing the flow of events. We need volunteers to arrive at 11:00 AM for setup. What began as a “Pride with Purpose” festival to raise funds and visibility has grown into a movement rooted in inclusion, advocacy, and unity. Our Mission is to unite and empower the LGBTQ+ community of SWFL, to support, educate and foster equality for all. We need volunteers to help run our annual Pridefest on April 18th, 2026. It takes over 120 volunteers to make this festival fabulous. Spend 4 hours taking tickets, selling merch, or setting up/cleaning up, and you get a free T-shirt, free admission, and a free lunch!
