Mon, Jun 1Volunteers Needed for Summer 2026 Cat Island, Bahamas Mission OpportunityAdvance the Faith is seeking students to come serve with them on their annual summer mission experience to Cat Island, Bahamas to serve children. Every year, they host a camp for the children & youth in foster care from the Old Bight Mission Home on Cat Island, Bahamas. This camp consists of various activities to reinforce life-skills, personal-success skills, team-building, and faith-based content. Team members can help with leading activities, preaching messages, leading worship and devotionals, leading games, and preparing meals. We would get to know you, your gifts, your passions, and your personality to explore what areas you want to serve! FGCU Participants earn 40 Service-Learning Hours. Cost: Estimated at $950 plus airfare cost (payments are due in increments) All participants are required to complete an application, background check, zoom training and have a passport that is valid through January 2027. The exact dates of this mission are To Be Determined, but it will be a full week in June 2026. Inclusive classes at TNP are designed for students on the autism spectrum or with any other type of neuro-divergency. These classes encourage students to learn singing, dancing, acting, and technical theatre skills as well as valuable life skills such as teamwork, patience, confidence, and communication. Classroom Assistants will support the students and lead teacher with daily educational activities and classroom management. Dates and times: June 8th - August 1st (8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and 12:30 PM to 5:30 PM). Students can work one week or more and can sign up for various days and available shifts. The program offers flexibility but requires commitment once you sign up. Sat, Jun 13Gateway Trinity Lutheran Church Needs Volunteers for Vacation Bible School/Kids Day CampGateway Trinity Lutheran Church is looking for MANY volunteers to assist in a week-long Vacation Bible School (summer camp) for kids VPK - 5th grade. We are expecting up to 80 kids from the community every morning for a high-energy, hands-on experience. Perfect for FGCU students studying Early Childhood, Elementary, or Special Education. Additional background checks and contracts will need to be completed beforehand, plus a training/info session on Saturday, June 13, 2026. VBS is June 15-19, 2026 and volunteers are expected to serve from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM each day. Additional prep, reset and celebration days are also needed. See sign-up link for details. They are looking for a photographer to come and take pictures of every child in the camp over 2 days (M/T or M/W). They would also like additional candid and fun shots throughout the time you will be there. Photos should be edited for best printed results. The child's photos will be printed to create a keepsake from the camp. All images should be uploaded to a cloud storage no later than 8am Thursday morning. Students will lead teams of children ages 4-11 through various activity rotations. They will also help with crafts, science lessons, games, and lessons. Vacation Bible School starts on Monday, July 13, 2026 and runs through Friday, July 17, 2026 from 8:00 AM to noon. MDA Summer Camp provides kids ages 8-17 diagnosed with neuromuscular diseases the chance to experience a life-changing week filled with fun, adventure, and friendship—all at no cost to their families. MDA Summer Camp is made possible by volunteer counselors who provide essential support to campers as they participate in adaptive camp experiences, games, dances, mealtimes, and more. Aquila is an interdisciplinary student-centered journal showcasing scholarship from all colleges and disciplines. Published by the University Library, Aquila devotes each issue to undergraduate and graduate scholarship from the humanities, STEM, social sciences, music and theatre, business and entrepreneurship, and health professions. The journal publishes literature reviews, original research, case studies, creative works, and projects affiliated with the Gulf Scholars program.
