SFA is a student-led ally and advocacy organization that advocates for farmworker rights, food justice, and equitable systems. We work closely with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW), which is a human rights organization that is internationally recognized for their efforts in increasing social responsibility and fighting human trafficking and gender-based violence. Our goal is to educate ourselves and others while providing a space to advocate and take action to support food justice across campus, locally and nationally.

Thu, Apr 16Ads of ActionAds of Action is an interactive Student Farmworker Alliance event where students will learn why brand busting is a powerful tool for building campaigns against harmful corporate practices. We’ll break down how companies use advertising—and how activists can flip the script. Students will create their own brand-breaking ads and play Name That Brand, a game that highlights the harmful actions and impacts of major corporations. Come get creative, think critically, and turn ads into action. 🎨✊
